JAMIN' SPELT WRONG?
(We pronounce it jammin' or jam in!)
Well
we know what some of you are thinking. Jamin'
is spelt wrong! Well, you are right,
only if you were using
the word as as an adjective or adverb,
but not if you're writing about the best
leather retailer in the industry (at least
we think so!). We've read Webster's dictionary
(and even received exerts in our e-mail
box), but this is a business name that was
changed around 1989 intentionally from the
name Jamie's Leather (est. 1979) to Jamin',
for lack of a better reason, a spelling
change. To keep the business ownership anonymous
so they can concentrate on the business
operations and future of Jamin' Leather.
I guess dealing with customers and salespeople
disguised as friends and family of the business
asking for handouts, discounts, special
services and false claims on merchandise
can get to anyone after a while.
Jamin'
Leather has been pondering over a spelling
change to Jam In Leather (has a nice ring
and won't be mistaken as a misspelling),
but the verdict isn't in yet. Besides we
also won't have to change our domain name
of jaminleather.com!
